When we think of a Florida wedding, we usually imagine sun-drenched palms and tropical heat. But on January 31, 2026—one of the coldest days I’ve experienced in my nearly six years of living here—Sam and Cory proved that a drop in temperature only makes the connection feel warmer.


Their wedding at Azaleana Manor was a masterclass in storytelling through detail. Against the crisp winter air, they leaned into a sophisticated black and white color palette, allowing the natural textures of the riverfront to take center stage.

Coastal Elegance Meets Winter Mood

The aesthetic was a breathtaking blend of "Lowcountry chic" and modern minimalism. To honor the coastal setting, the decor featured:

  • Oyster Shell Accents: A nod to the sea that felt timeless and refined.


  • The Palette: Strict black and white, which created a stunning, moody contrast against the manor’s classic architecture.

A Culinary Journey: From Charcuterie to Paella

Sam and Cory wanted their guests to feel cared for from the moment they arrived. Despite the chill, the atmosphere was electric. The evening kicked off with a sprawling charcuterie cocktail hour, followed by a show-stopping seafood paella dinner that brought a sense of communal celebration to the room.


As the night progressed, the energy shifted from elegant dining to a high-octane celebration. The secret ingredient? Espresso martinis all around and a packed dance floor that didn't clear out until the final song.

As a photographer, I live for the quiet, raw moments. The way Cory looked at Sam during their chilly First Look—shielding her from the wind—perfectly captured the emotions and intimacy that define their relationship. The cold wasn't a distraction; it was a backdrop that forced everyone closer together.

Before the winter chill truly took hold, Sam and Cory shared their vows at the water's edge. The Azaleana Manor riverfront provided a serene, expansive backdrop that perfectly complemented their moody yet elegant aesthetic. There is something profoundly moving about a ceremony by the water—the rhythmic flow of the river mirroring the deep connection and commitment being made.


As the sun began to dip and the Florida cold started to seep in, the transition from the open-air ceremony to the warmth of the manor felt intentional and welcoming. It was the ultimate "best of both worlds" scenario: a breathtaking outdoor start followed by a high-energy, cozy celebration.
